Camira Fabrics - Material Scanning

Brief

Camira Fabrics were receiving an increased number of enquiries for seamless textured images for use within 3D rendering software. They were struggling to find a reliable and cost-effective resource to create these high-end tileable images

Process

Whilst considering pattern repeats, we scanned sections from a supplied physical material sample. The scaled duplicate was digitally edited to remove imperfections and colour corrected to produce a high-resolution image.

Result

By carefully removing subtle shadowing and aligning distorted edges; that would otherwise distract from the overall image; we were able to create digital material samples that would seamlessly tile across the surface of any CAD object.

Feedback

“Our customers are thrilled with the high-res tileable fabric scan images
and configurator/modelling files we can now provide.”

Morley’s - BIM Collaboration - Hatch End High School

Brief

Hatch End School in Harrow wanted to build an extension on the school to act as a multi-purpose sixth form building. Morley’s Office Furniture had secured the furniture contract and were required to work in collaboration with Keir Construction to produce a series of layouts and submit a BIM model. The project needed to be completed before the new school year began so staying on schedule was crucial.

Process

Due to the variety of rooms required; such as a library, ICT, and food technology rooms; the furniture was a mixture of fixed and loose products. Each item needed to be digitally sourced or modelled with the correct industry data and accurate digital footprint; Diane Butterworth Ltd were brought onto the project to produce these. The BIM model was vital for creating precise floor layouts, elevation views, and furniture schedules ahead of installation.

Feedback

“Having access to a team with the skills and knowledge of creating a BIM model was essential to us initially securing the furniture contract with Keir Construction; who were the managing contractors. The Diane Butterworth Ltd team took all responsibility in producing the relevant drawings and collaborating with the contractor during the 20-week project. We are extremely happy with their service and felt informed throughout.”

Verco Office Furniture - Space Planning - British Telecommunications

Brief

Establish a modern and inviting furniture collection, incorporating the BT brand and style, that can be rolled out across a multitude of UK offices. Develop the current open plan layouts to include a selection of collaborative areas that is sensitive to the current furniture placement.

Process

Working as the sole design team on behalf of our client, we have produced a large selection of still images and walkthrough renders to display the new environments. We attended design and development meetings with BT’s head of procurement to ensure all requirements were properly communicated and interpreted. Due to the large scope of works, BT required a same day turnaround on drawing amendments. We adapted our scheduling process to ensure a designer is always available to complete their daily tasks and meet this essential requirement.

Feedback

“It has not only been valuable but also essential for us to use Diane Butterworth Ltd for our space planning requirements. The BT lead times can be demanding but with DB Ltd we have access to 5 designers, and due to the BT workload, a guaranteed same day turnaround. We have been impressed by the accuracy of planning and creativity of 3D stills and walkthroughs created.”
