Frequently Asked Questions - Space Planning and Visualisation

We’ve answered some of the most common questions we receive about our Space Planning and Visualisation services. Whether you’re looking for help shaping the flow of a workspace or you need clear visuals to bring a concept to life, this section explains how we support clients at every stage — from the information we need and the formats we provide to how we collaborate throughout the project. If you’d like to discuss your space or upcoming project in more detail, we’d be happy to chat.

What is space planning and visualisation?

Space planning and visualisation is simply the process of figuring out how a room should work, then showing that idea in a way people can understand, at a glance.

It usually starts with the basics, like where furniture should be located and how people will move around the space, then grows into clearer drawings or visuals.

These give everyone involved a much better sense of what the finished space might feel like, before anything is purchased or installed.

What does your space planning and visualisation service include?

Our service provides practical planning and visualisation support for office and commercial environments.

Our expertise lies in helping clients make the best use of their available space through 2D planning and 3D visualisation.

What type of information do you need to start a project?

We can work from almost any starting point, from hand drawn sketches with basic dimensions to full CAD files.

Ideally, we receive a 2D architectural plan, but we can adapt to whatever information our client can provide.

What is included in your 2D space planning service?

The 2D service focuses on layout design.

This can include maximising desk numbers, adding meeting rooms and flexible work zones, improving flow and accessibility, and ensuring desks are not positioned in front of fire exits.

Please note: our service is not a technical or regulatory service and is not intended for building control applications.

Can you measure a site if we don’t have accurate dimensions?

We can visit a site for measurement, if necessary.

However, we no longer carry out manual laser measuring.

Instead, we can arrange an outsourced point cloud survey, or clients can supply basic dimensions for us to work from.

What formats do you provide for 2D plans?

2D plans can be supplied with colour applied and delivered as PDFs or DWG files.

Clients may request specific products, or we can use generic items from our library.

What is included in your 3D space planning and visualisation service?

Once the 2D layout is approved, we can build a 3D version of the space.

This is a conceptual stage that shows how the area could look.

It can include colours, textures, finishes, logos, planting, decorative features and conceptual elements like wall graphics or hanging features.

Do you provide final construction drawings or technical elevations in 3D?

No. The 3D visuals are conceptual only.

We do not produce build level drawings, detailed elevations, or technical specifications for construction.

What file formats do you deliver for 3D visuals?

We can provide 3D renders, walkthrough videos, and supporting mood boards.

These are supplied as PDFs, DWGs, or MP4 files.

Can we request amendments to the designs?

Yes. A reasonable number of amendments is normally included within any fixed quote.

We understand that layouts and visuals often evolve before final approval.

Do you offer pricing options for ongoing work?

Yes. For clients with regular projects, we offer an hourly rate service with monthly invoicing based on time spent and the number of renders produced.

How do you communicate during a project?

We work closely with clients, usually through direct email communication.

This allows us to operate as an extension of their internal team.
