Revit Families for Identity Furniture
When we talk about the power of Revit in the furniture industry, it’s not just about precision or speed, it’s about enabling brands to work smarter and deliver better experiences for their customers. Our work with Identity Furniture is a great example of how good will and guidance can eventually lead to a strong and successful project partnership.
Here’s a look at how that relationship developed—from answering a few questions via email to delivering a full set of expertly modelled Revit families for their latest product ranges.

Starting with Free Support
We first heard from Ben Iddon at Identity Furniture after he’d been using some of our free Revit resources. He reached out with a few technical questions about how best to use the files, and we were happy to help.
That initial interaction was purely supportive—no sales pitch, no obligation. Just clear, helpful advice. We believe it’s important that our Revit families are genuinely accessible, and that means offering guidance when needed, even if there’s no commercial project attached.
Building Skills In-House
Fast forward a few months, and Identity Furniture had started developing their own Revit content. As a manufacturer, they recognised the growing demand for high-quality BIM assets and decided to bring some of that capability in-house.
Ben got back in touch, this time with a question: did we offer Revit training specifically for furniture? — While we don’t provide a formal course (every product is different, after all), we assured him we were happy to answer specific queries as they came up.
And over the following months, that’s exactly what we did—providing informal support to help them through the learning curve. Sometimes, a nudge in the right direction is all it takes to keep momentum going.
A Full Set of Families: The Project Begins
The real collaboration kicked off at the start of 2025. Identity Furniture got in touch again but this time with a project brief. They were looking for a partner to model 10 product ranges, primarily soft seating, in Revit.
Many of the designs had organic forms, which is where our experience really shines. We know that modelling softer, less structured shapes in Revit can be a challenge, especially when it comes to balancing visual accuracy with file performance.
The project gave Identity Furniture the freedom to focus their internal resources on other design priorities, while we handled the technical BIM side. Our quote aligned with both their budget and timeframe and by February 2025, the full set of Revit families was delivered.

The Results
The models were exactly what they needed.
One of the best things about working with a team that has in-house Revit skills is that they’re able to check and evaluate the work themselves—and in this case, the feedback was very positive.
Although we often walk clients through the files via a Teams demo, Identity Furniture didn’t need it—they were comfortable reviewing the content independently and were extremely satisfied with how the families were built.
From the initial contact and their expert email support to the full final project management and delivery, they were hard working, competent and produced high-quality Revit families.
Their knowledge of modelling organic furniture shapes really stood out and we really enjoyed working together. Would highly recommend.
